preparations

visa

from 23rd to 25th july i’ve been to vienna with a really cute girl. we slept at a friend of mine (thanks again gregory ;) ). the main purpose of the trip was going for the visa. to get the visa at the us embassy you have to make an appointment via phone. this call will only cost you about 15€.

there are more things you need to have before you get to the embassy:

  • special passport photo from photographer
  • paid SEVIS-fee and VISA fee
  • filled out DS-160 and DS-2019 form
  • valid passport
  • and the certificate of eligibility for exchange visitors (from the university)
its very important that u prepare all your documents carefully! at the embassy itself, you will meet a very friendly front desk lady – so better step in line and do what she tells ya ;)
the security check may be a little bit excessive. then you have to wait to get to an employee to hand them your forms. after that you’ll have to wait for about an hour to speak to an officer for about 1 minute. after this procedure you can drive home. all in all it was a great weekend in vienna!
